Our first experience of Las Vegas Buffets was at the
Luxor Hotel.
We weaved in and out of the gaming tables and slot machines on the casino floor to reach it.
The buffet seemed oddly placed to us until we learned that historically, buffets were set up in this way to allow gamblers a way to stop and refuel quickly and then get back to gaming.
Las Vegas houses some of the best buffets in America. Pretty much every hotel on the Strip has a buffet and they’re all quite different both in terms of ambiance and choice of food.
If you visit the buffet at peak times be prepared to queue. A good money saving tip – something we stumbled on – quite accidentally is to visit the buffet just before the dishes for the next meal are brought out. For example if breakfast finishes and lunch begins at 11am join the queue at 10.45am and you’ll pay breakfast prices but get to sample the lunch food!
