Las Vegas Transportation
Our tips and advice for getting around
Las Vegas transportation options are plentiful. There are many ways to get around the Las Vegas Strip which is approximately 4 miles long (and oddly enough only a small bit of it’s actually in Las Vegas; the majority of the Strip is in Winchester and Paradise.)

The type of Las Vegas transportation you choose depends on what you want to do, what time of year you’re going - for example walking from one end of the Strip to the another is probably not going to be the best option in the height of summer - and how much money you want to spend.
We’ve tried many of the Las Vegas transportation options with varying levels of success! This page will tell you what you need to know about making your way around Las Vegas: public transportation; car rentals; airport shuttles; walking; taxis; and getting to the Grand Canyon.
Getting around Las Vegas on foot
If you’re fit and not visiting Vegas in the blistering heat then
walking
is a great, cheap way to get around. If you choose walking as your primary means of transportation there are some things you need to consider...
Las Vegas Monorail
If the idea of your feet taking you everywhere fills you with dread or you're visiting Las Vegas when the temperatures are sky high then we like to take a break and use the
Las Vegas Monorail.
for transportation in Las Vegas.
Deuce Bus
Take the
Las Vegas Bus,
the double decker Deuce, if you’re not in a hurry. If you're checking out the sights on the Strip you're never far from a bus stop and this method of Las Vegas public transportation won't cost you a fortune.
Las Vegas Airport Shuttle
Look no further than the
Airport Shuttle
to transport you from McCarran Airport to your hotel. This is a great method of airport transportation to the Las Vegas Strip.
Las Vegas Taxis
You can always get
taxi
in Sin City. Just head to any of the major hotels on the Strip and you'll find them lined up outside. We've never had to wait for one! They're probably the most convenient method of Las Vegas Strip transportation but not the cheapest.
Car Rental Deals in Las Vegas
For total freedom
rent a car
and explore Las Vegas and beyond at your leisure. This is a great option if you're keen to get out of Las Vegas and take in the sights and there are always plenty of great deals.
However, a car's not necessary if you're planning to stay mainly on the Strip.
Helicopter tours to the Grand Canyon
This is our absolutely favourite way to get from the Las Vegas Strip to the Grand Canyon. Talk about doing it in style - and of course it's pretty darn quick!
