The hotel New York in Vegas opened in 1997 and from it you can see the
MGM Grand
and the
Excalibur.
Like the City that Never Sleeps this hotel and casino is usually pretty busy and you’ll see a number of families here probably because there’s plenty of things to do that will keep you entertained for hours.
The pool area has recently been upgraded and has three whirlpools where you can chill out. If you need some extra relaxation book one of the pool chair massages!
There are different pool packages on offer. A cabana will cost you between $125-$175 or there's the VIP pool package for $65 which includes: two poolside chairs; two raft rentals; a volleyball; and snack basket.
Sleeping and Eating
There are over 2000 rooms in Hotel New York New York Vegas which are based on Big Apple apartments. Because of this they’re actually smaller than then the average hotel room on the Strip.
There's a good selection of restaurants at the New York Resort Las Vegas. We really like the pizza at Sirrico’s Pizza in the Village Eateries which is the hotel’s version of Greenwich Village complete with lamp posts and trees.
The village is a great place to eat but there are also a number of restaurants to choose from such as Gallagher’s Steakhouse – our neighbour swears they do the best steaks he's ever tasted! and our favourite for a cheap Chinese, the
Chin Chin Cafe.
Entertainment
Scream at the top of your lungs on the resort's
Roller Coaster
as you climb and fall against the replica skyline.
Hell No H2O! For a rowdy night visit Coyote Ugly (the New York branch inspired the hit film of the same name starring Maria Bello and Piper Perabo) and watch the bartenders singing and dancing on the bar.
There's a number of other places offering night time entertainment in the resort including: Rok Vegas, the new rock nightclub; Nine Fine Irishmen which has nightly entertainment; Bar at Times Sqaure; and Pour 24.
If you need to relax head to the Spa at New York Vegas which often has some great 2 for 1 deals on treatments. Both the women's and men's lounges are stocked with snacks and drinks. And they have some great whirlpool baths that you can relax in afterwards.
