The Colosseum at Caesars Palace
In 2002 when we were planning our first trip to Las Vegas our travel agent had huge difficulty in finding us a flight and hotel.
It wasn’t that we’d left it late to book it was because Celine Dion had just announced that she had signed a contract to perform 600 shows at the purpose-built Colossseum at Caesars Palace.
Celine Dion’s show, A New Day was hugely successful; so much so in fact that her contract was extended. She performed at the Colosseum at Caesars hotel Las Vegas five nights a week between March 2003 and 2007.
During this time the show was seen by three million people and grossed $400 million. (No wonder we had trouble getting a flight and accommodation!) A great move for Celine and Caesars Palace.
Caesars Palace Shows
Since then Caesars Palace shows at the 4,000 seat venue have become an integral part of the Vegas experience and has welcomed a number of other world class artists with big productions such as Cher, Bette Midler and Elton John.

Cher’s concerts were extremely popular; she performed nearly 200 shows between 2008 and February 2011. And Bette Midler’s show The Showgirl Must Go On attracted audiences from across the globe between 2008 and 2010.
We were lucky enough to
meet Bette Midler
at her book signing at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace after one of her performances. Amazing!

Elton John, who’s no stranger to performing in Las Vegas, will be the latest Caesars Palace Box Office Hit Show, taking up a three-year residency from September 2011.
And the new show,
Absinthe,
is currently taking the Colosseum and Vegas by storm. It’s been described by The New York Times as 'Cirque channeled through The Rocky Horror Show,' Absinthe is an intoxicating collision of circus, burlesque and vaudeville featuring curious creatures, heavenly bodies and outrageous comedy. Check rates and availability.
So, if you’re busy planning a visit to Las Vegas think about checking out some of the Caesars Palace entertainment.
