Weighing up the pros and cons of
Off the Strip Hotels in Vegas
Are you thinking about staying in one of the off the strip hotels in Vegas? Maybe you think it’ll work out cheaper?
If you’ve been to Sin City before or just don’t want to be amid the hustle and bustle of the LV Boulevard 24/7 preferring instead to dip in and out as you please then you have lots options but it's worth weighing the pros and cons and really thinking about what you want from your trip before you book.

I've heard it's cheaper to stay off the Strip
In general the hotels off the Strip are cheaper to stay at but bear in mind that the further out from the Strip you stay the more time and money you could spend travelling to and from LV Boulevard if you plan on enjoying all the
restaurants,
main
attractions
and shows.
I want to stay somewhere scenic
If you definitely want to be a few miles out so that you can experience less traffic and be completely surrounded by Nevada’s dramatic mountain vistas with easy access to the outdoors think about splitting your trip and staying on the Strip for part of it and somewhere more remote such as
Red Rock Canyon
for a couple of days.

Red Rock Canyon
I want to stay off LV Boulevard but be able to travel to it easily
If you know that you’ll want to be visiting the Strip a lot but would still prefer a little way from the main action then consider staying at a hotel which has regular transport to LV Boulevard such as the Rio or South Point. That way you can still enjoy all the central restaurants, attractions and shows that you want.
I’m on a really tight budget and can’t afford to stay on the Strip
Not all the hotels on the Las Vegas Strip are expensive there are some
cheaper ones
but a good cluster of
budget hotels
in Las Vegas can be found in the Downtown area which has a
regular bus service
to LV Boulevard.
