Key dates in the Las Vegas Conventions Calendar
This is a particularly large show in the Las Vegas Conventions Calendar that you need to know about. The International CES (Consumer Electronics Show) is the largest consumer technology tradeshow in the world. It takes place in January and attracts approximately 140,000 attendees from across the globe.
AVN Adult Entertainment Expo
Las Vegas gets very busy during the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo which also takes place in January. This year it took place at the Hard Rock Hotel.
The International Builders’ Show (IBS)
The International Builders' Show is the largest building industry convention in the world. It takes place in January and attracts over 50,000 visitors.
Las Vegas Market
This convention takes place at the World Market Center in January/February and July/August. The Las Vegas Market convention attracts in excess of 50,000 attendees consisting of buyers, designers and other industry professionals.
Men's Apparel Guild of CA (MAGIC)
Despite its name MAGIC is a major fashion convention for both men and women’s clothes. It takes place twice a year in February and August and attracts more than 110,000 visitors from over 80 countries.
World of Concrete
This convention is held every February for those in the concrete and masonry construction industries. World of Concrete has been running since 1975 and today attracts approximately 50,000 industry professionals.
CinemaCon takes place in April and attracts approximately 5,000 attendees and is a major gathering of movie theatre owners. It’s not one of the largest conventions but does attract A-listers and their fans.
National Association of Broadcasters (NAB Show)
This convention takes place in April. The NAB Show draws together members of the broadcast industry from across the world. It’s a massive event attracting 90,000 visitors from more than 150 countries.
This three-day global convention occurs in May. ReCon attracts over 30,000 attendees from the shopping center industry.
Those in the business of fashionable footwear and accessories flock to Las Vegas for the ENKWSA which takes place every February and July/August. This convention attracts approximately 17,000 attendees.

Along with holidays and conventions there are a few special events that you need to be aware of that see the crowds flocking to Las Vegas.
Super Bowl Weekend
If you’re not from America what you need to know is that the Super Bowl is the annual championship game of the National Football League (NFL.) It takes place on the first Sunday in February. This is a hugely popular weekend in Las Vegas. In fact it gets more and more popular year after year. If you’re not watching the game live and are planning to head to Las Vegas at this time, make sure you book well in advance.

So, what’s March Madness? It’s the name given to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Men and Womens’ Basketball Tournaments. 64 teams from various colleges compete for the championship from the second week of March until the first week of April. Las Vegas gets busy during this time, particularly during April, as fans head to the Vegas sports books.
National Finals Rodeo (NFR)
The National Finals Rodeo is America’s premier championship rodeo event. It takes place during the first week of December every year at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and attracts a lot of visitors to the City. If you’re planning to head to Vegas during this week you need to think about booking your trip up to 12 months in advance.
