Q. I know Vegas is famous for its top class restaurants but are there places you can eat cheaply that are good? I’m going next week for a vacation and I’m on a tight budget.

A. You don't have to spend a fortune on food. There are food courts everywhere and you'll find really reasonable places up and down the Strip. Some inexpensive restaurants in Las Vegas Nevada that we like are: Canters Deli at Treasure Island; Chin Chin Cafe at New York New York; Earl of Sandwich at Planet Hollywood; and Towers Deli at the Venetian.

Q. My fiancé and I have just booked a trip to Las Vegas. We haven’t got much money to spend while we’re there. Are there any decent free things to do?

A. We’ve been to Vegas on a shoestring budget and you can still have a great time. There are lots of excellent free attractions in Las Vegas you can visit such as: the Las Vegas Fountains of Bellagio; Mirage Volcano; Fall of Atlantis show; Flamingo Habitat; MGM Grand Lion Habitat; Las Vegas Sign; Coca-Cola Store and M&Ms World; Fremont Street experience.

It doesn’t cost anything to lie by the pool if the weather’s nice and there are lots of shopping malls you can wander around and just window shop.

Q. I want to book a room on the Strip but can’t afford much. Which are the cheapest hotels?

A. It doesn't have to cost a fortune to stay on the Strip. You can get some good deals at: the Stratosphere Las Vegas; Excalibur Hotel Las Vegas; Circus Circus Las Vegas; and Flamingo Las Vegas.

Q. Are the hotels in the Downtown area cheaper than the hotels on the Strip?

A. You’ll find some of the cheapest hotels in Las Vegas in the Downtown area. There are some great deals to be had. We prefer to stay on the Strip but many people love this area as it’s the original gambling part of Sin City.

Q. How can I get around Las Vegas without spending a fortune on taxis?

A. The Strip is about four miles long and walking is the cheapest easiest way to get around. However, when it’s really hot you might not be able to get far comfortably. In that case check out the deuce bus or the monorail.
