About the Luxor Hotel in Vegas
We stayed at the Luxor Hotel in Vegas in 2003 (ten years after it opened) on our first visit to the desert city for our honeymoon and we were completely bowled over by its size. The pyramid itself is 30-storeys high!

When we stayed here the taxi dropped us right outside but we still managed to wander through into the neighbouring
Excalibur in Vegas
looking for the reception at the Luxor Hotel Vegas. It’s not as bad as it sounds; the Excalibur and the
Mandalay Bay
are both connected to the Luxor by walkway and tram. (OK maybe it is... we’ll put our lack of direction down to jet lag!)
Sleeping
We were dead on our feet when we arrived and had to queue for a while to check in as it was extremely busy that night but it was worth it. Our room
was in one of the two towers that flank the pyramid. It was really spacious with two large double beds and the bathroom had a huge bath with places to rest your arms and a separate shower.
The Luxor Hotel Las Vegas Nevada is really close to McCarran International Airport and from our room we could see the planes taking off (but luckily not hear them!)

Eating
The
MORE buffet
was the first Sin City buffet we ever ate at and we loved the huge variety of food to choose from (check out our list of
best buffets in las vegas.)
We've also spent quite a lot of time in the food court (when money was a bit tight) which has the usual eateries such as McDonald's; Nathans; Quiznos; Starbucks and more.
There are lots of other restaurants
in the Hotel Luxor Las Vegas NV. For steak and seafood eat at TENDER; for music while you eat visit CatHouse. Fancy a corned beef sandwich? Try the Backstage Deli. And T&T will satisfy any cravings you might have for Mexican.
Entertainment

Losing our pennies in one of the Luxor's 2,000 slot machines
When we’d recovered from our flight we found there was so much to do in the Luxor in Vegas. We lost some cash in the 100,000 square foot casino; had our photos taken as Luke and Leia...

... and watched the Lion King at the IMAX (which has now closed but there is still an IMAX simulator that you can go on.)
We spent time relaxing in the Luxor Pool in Las Vegas. The large pool area boasts four swimming pools and has a number of cabanas.

If you're looking for further entertainment visit the BODIES exhibition or watch the hugely popular Criss Angel and Cirque de Soleil show: Believe. You can often find some great deals on show tickets. Just recently the Luxor website was advertising two show tickets for $75 which applied to shows at both the Luxor and the Excalibur.
Luxor Hotel Vegas was renovated in 2007 taking away some of the Egyptian theme from the inside. There is plenty of nightlife
to choose from in the resort. Trendy nightclub LAX which is a magnet for celebrities, opened at the hotel as part of the transformation. Step back to the 19th Century at the CatHouse which is a glamourous lounge.
If you're looking for somewhere to have a drink you can choose from a number of bars including: Saville Row, Flight, Liquidity, and the Noir Bar. One of our favourites is the Aurora which has some cool lighting effects that are based on the Northern lights.

There are enough shops to keep you busy for a while in the mini-mall
Mandalay Place
which is housed on a sky bridge that joins the Luxor and Mandalay Bay Hotel Vegas and is home to a selection of speciality boutiques and stores.
