Illusionists, Penn and Teller are a household name – at least so I thought until I heard my Dad refer to them as Ben & Stiller. Hmmm... Anyway, the duo’s been together for 35 years entertaining audiences across the globe with a blend of black comedy and magic both on stage and television.
Of that 35 years they’ve spent ten years performing at the Rio Hotel in Sin City making Penn and Teller Las Vegas one of the longest running shows in Las Vegas Nevada. You’ll see them on the sides of
while you’re there. They’re so synonymous with the city that Katy Perry asked them to star in her hit video Waking up in Vegas.
Throughout their careers they’ve received a number of rewards and accolades which include being namedLas Vegas Magicians of the Year in 2011. So, is it worth checking out these Vegas Headliners?
Our friend Shaun Moggan went along to Penn & Teller Las Vegas on his most recent trip to the desert city. Read what he thought about the show...
Penn and Teller Las Vegas Show’s Review by Shaun Moggan
“I was a bit sceptical about seeing this long standing show. I obtained reduced price Penn and Teller tickets from the ticket booth at Casino Royale and had a good seat in front row balcony.
After the first act or two of the Penn and Teller show you could say my scepticism vanished (literally into thin air you might say). P&T incorporated their most famous routines into the show – a blood curdling cutting body in half routine and the catching a bullet in teeth trick.
Interspersed were some amazing routines from both performers – jaw dropping at times – and it left me wanting more. I would recommend this to anybody who wants to be entertained in Vegas – and who doesn’t.
It was the highlight of my trip and it was a nice touch to be able to meet the performers after the show in the foyer. P&T have one of the longest running shows in Vegas but I am assured they continually revise their act to keep things fresh. I believe them and will be back for more when I’m in Vegas next."
