My wife insisted we visit the Tao nightclub Las Vegas when I went to Sin City for my birthday with my friend, Chris. Apparently it’s the place where all the celebrities go especially when they’ve got a birthday to celebrate!

What's it like?

The Asian-themed venue has the reputation for being one of the coolest, most lavish nightclubs on the strip. But it’s not just a nightclub... Its 44,000 square feet is also home to a restaurant, sushi bar and lounge that can found in the Venetian on the same level as the Grand Canal Shoppes.

We got there before 11pm so walked straight in but when we came out around 1.30pm there was a huge queue - so be warned - if you go later you may have to wait in line for a while.

What's it like?

When we arrived we were met by women in little tubs filled with water and petals, clad in skimpy flowery bikinis.

And the décor’s impressive with waterfalls and statues of Buddha everywhere and views of the strip. The nightclub has three bars and two rooms which play a variety of music. Unfortunately there seemed to be nowhere to sit unless you'd paid for a table.

What kind of drinks do they serve?

We stuck to Jack Daniels and cokes but if cocktails are more your thing (like my wife!) then Tao has a list to choose from. Drinks aren’t cheap though. The JD and cokes were more than $10 each.

How much does it cost?

It's not exactly cheap. It cost us $30 each to get in... but Tao's an experience you can't afford to miss.
