Why visit the Venetian in the first place? The Venetian is truly one of our favourite of all the hotels on the Strip and has been ever since we set foot in it... Just see how beautiful the resort is for starters.

Like the Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas the AAA five-diamond rated Venetian Casino in Las Vegas has also been featured in films and TV shows.

We recognised it straightaway from Rat Race (one of my husband Martyn’s favourite films) but you might have also seen it in the Sandra Bullock movie Miss Congeniality 2 and reality show, The Hills.

About the Venetian Casino in Las Vegas

The Venetian Hotel in Vegas opened in 1999 and although both the Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas and the Venetian are of a similar age and based on places in Italy they manage to retain quite unique characters. You'll generally find a younger crowd at the latter.

Sleeping and Eating

The rooms are big, beautiful and spotless with great views of the Strip. Plus they have really comfortable beds! It's almost worth staying at the Venetian Casino in Las Vegas just for the toiletries which are far superior to the stingy basics you often see in hotels.

The Venetian hotel restaurants offer a huge range of critically acclaimed fine dining and casual dining eateries so you can always find something to suit your taste and your wallet. For seafood visit Aquaknox; for Italian cuisine eat at B&B Ristorante, Caneletto, or Valentino; for French cuisine try Bouchon; or if you fancy Asian food go to Tao.

Perhaps surprisingly in a hotel of this standard there are lots of lower-priced eateries which you'll find in the food court. Head to Johnny Rockets for entertainment while you eat or Towers Deli for a light lunch.

We're never, ever stuck for choice at the Venetian hotel restaurants and we've eaten here quite a few times.

Attractions and Shopping

Stunning canals run through the resort’s great shopping mall, the Grand Canal Shoppes Las Vegas, offering relaxing Venetian Gondola Rides.

We love wandering around the shops listening to the gondoliers singing as if we’re really in Venice. Look out for the entertainers and moving statues which perform around the streets at intervals throughout the day adding to the jovial atmosphere.

Entertainment at the Venetian Casino in Las Vegas

The Venetian Showroom plays host to high profile stars such as Joan Rivers and you'll find popular shows such as Jersey Boys and the Blue Man Group on at the resort. See current special offers on Venetian shows.

There's plenty of first class nightlife to choose from at the Venetian in Las Vegas. Dance away to a live band at La Scena Lounge or if rock 'n' roll's more your thing visit Smokin' Hot Aces.

Tao at the Venetian

For some celeb spotting make a date with the famous nightclub Tao at the Venetian and expect to see a number of twenty somethings ready to party, particularly on the weekend. (And for waxwork impressions of celebrities check out Madame Tussauds which is open daily.)

You probably wouldn't expect to be able to lounge on a beach in the middle of the desert. But in Vegas you can! Live it up in the day time at Tao Beach which is an extension of the nightclub.

Like the rest of the resort the utmost attention to detail has been paid to the Beach which is designed as a Balinese oasis adorned with bamboo trees and greenery where you can relax by the pool - and you can even get married here if you wish. You'll often find celebrities hosting at Tao Beach, particularly on weekends. The Beach is open seven days a week from 10am.

Another plus about the Venetian is its location. You'll find it in the centre of the Strip surrounded by other great resorts and attractions. If you stay here you'll have easy access to the Palazzo, the Mirage, Treasure Island, and the Fashion Show Mall to name just a few.
