As seen on screen
The Mirage Hotel Las Vegas NV
is not just a star of the silver screen. Although movie buffs will no doubt have spotted it in Ocean’s Eleven, Vegas Vacation and SGT Bilko; keen gamers will have seen the resort masquerading as the Visage in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
About the Mirage Hotel Las Vegas NV
Actual gold was used in the creation of the hotel’s golden windows so it’s no wonder that the Mirage Hotel Vegas cost $630 million to build, which in 1989, when it opened, made it the most expensive of the Las Vegas casinos and hotels.

Transport
Whilst staying at
TI Las Vegas (aka Treasure Island)
we took full advantage of the free tram which trundled to and from the Mirage Casino in Las Vegas, spending quite a lot of time there. We also found ourselves spending a fair bit of time here when we stayed at
Caesars Palace
as it's just next door and has one of the best casinos on the Strip.
Sleeping and Eating

The Mirage is a good hotel to choose if you want to stay somewhere nice that you won't get lost in. It's one of the smaller resorts (by Sin City standards) but the saying that the best things come in small packages is certainly true of this hotel.
Our friends, Michelle and Simone, stayed here on their last trip to the desert city and had a fantastic time. Below is the picture they took of their room
at the Mirage Hotel Las Vegas NV:

The rooms at the Mirage Hotel Las Vegas NV are modern, stylish and boldly furnished. The beds are ultra comfortable thanks to their pillow tops. 42" plasma screens and MP3 docking stations are standard in every room.
The Mirage Las Vegas restaurants
are wide-ranging offering both fine dining and casual cuisine. There are six fine dining restaurants: Japonais; Stack; Fin; Kokomo's; Onda Ristorante; and the Samba Brazilian Steakhouse.
There are even more casual eateries dotted around the hotel: BLT Burger; B.B. King's Blue's Club; California Pizza Kitchen; Cravings; Paradise Kitchen; Blizz; the Roasted Bean; Dolphin Snack Bar, which comes in pretty handy as it can be tiring looking at all those mammals; and one of our favourites the
Carnegie Deli
which serves massive sandwiches.
Entertainment

The Mirage Volcano
Still not sure which one the Mirage Hotel Vegas is? You can’t miss it. It’s the hotel with the
flamboyant man-made volcano
sat right in front of it. It's really worth cathing at least one of the Mirage Volcano shows. Although they're not long they're pretty impressive.
There’s a 20,000-gallon salt-water aquarium in the lobby which houses sharks, eels, angelfish and others.

Make sure you visit
Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat
which is one of
our top things to do in Sin City.
If you're in to animals you won't be disappointed with the Secret Garden as there are lots of different kinds of furry creatures here and you can also get up close with dolphins in the Dolphin Habitat. And over 13s have the fun option of being a trainer for the day.
If you fancy something more relaxing head over to Bare
, the adult pool area and enjoy some pampering and cocktails, European style.

The nightlife's
also worth checking out at the Mirage. Visit JET
which has three rooms playing dance, rock, hip-hop and 80s music.
